Diving Fuvahmulah + Huvadhoo: when to go and what it is really like
Tiger sharks are the baseline. Fuvahmulah gives you a reliable tiger-shark dive, then March adds the best overlap with threshers, hammerheads, oceanic mantas and the chance of a whale shark. Add Huvadhoo if you want natural channel dives rather than a whole week built around the provisioned tiger site.

When is the best time to dive Fuvahmulah + Huvadhoo?
Go in March. This calendar does not reward shoulder season: those are the months I would actually spend the money on, not merely months when an operator can run a trip. Blue water, current and some deep dawn profiles. The island has no protective atoll.
What will you actually see?
Tiger sharks, Threshers, Oceanic mantas, Channel sharks are the reasons to make the trip. Wild encounters vary, but the ranking assumes the best months above rather than an average week across the year.

Advanced. Blue water, current and some deep dawn profiles. The island has no protective atoll.
Trip format: Land-based on Fuvahmulah; add a liveaboard for Huvadhoo’s channels.
Why is Fuvahmulah + Huvadhoo ranked #11?
Fuvahmulah + Huvadhoo is an excellent trip with one meaningful tradeoff—usually animal reliability, reef consistency or demanding conditions.
The 8.7 score is one editorial opinion, not a visitor average. It weights sharks and other pelagics heavily, then asks whether the reef and the rest of the itinerary justify the flight.
